Ledger Domain

As an Oscar devotee, I took great offense at Heath Ledger’s cavalier snub of the Academy Sunday night by not showing up to receive his Best Supporting Actor Oscar, marring an otherwise pleasant evening and rendering it, if I may be so bold, a dark night for all who bore witness to this graceless gesture.  Perhaps he thought he was above it all; I don’t know.  Either way, it was the height of crassness.  Who does this joker think he is?!?  Trust me: as Hollywood has a long memory, I can safely state that he will never work in this town again.

Two degrees of separation

Seriously!  My brother just emailed then called me.  He just shook the President’s hand.  He’s a bus driver for tour groups, etc. and today was driving around the White House Press Corp and guess who temporarily stepped aboard?

(I‘m not joking.  In fact, I thought HE was so I asked him to call me.)

The Two Billls

The other day I was beside myself with anger.  Sure enough, I glanced to my left and there I was.

"You're all heart"

Friends and family have told me this forever.  Only now did I deduce that for decades they have been calling me a mindless idiot.

Cat Lovers Of The World Unite!!

I have chosen to decline the offer from People magazine on the new pix of my new apartment dwellers and instead comp them to a chosen few.

Phoebe (1/24/09) and Katey (1/25/09) respectively.

Explaining my Dour Nature

Even my siblings will admit that my dark spin on the world stems from my dearly departed mother, Elvira Grimley.  Truly, if anyone is to blame, it is she.  It is her.  (Well, one of those....)

Frankly, I'm flattered

Caroline Kennedy, having expressed interest in the soon-to-be-vacated Senate seat of Hillary Clinton, announced today that it was the example of President-Wannabe William P. that inspired her.

Edwin and I were talking it over while I was polishing a bust of Daddy and he said:  “Sweet Caroline – by the way Neil Diamond wrote that song for me, you know - look at that Bill fella.  I hear he’s got nothing but rocks in his head, and yet he’s President-Wannabe.  Good God, sweetie, you’re a Kennedy!”

“You’re right,” I said.  “And I’m twenty years older than Uncle Teddy was when he joined the Senate.”

“A better driver, too.”
